We were founded in 1943 as a result of the far-reaching vision and the commitment of Eugenio Garza Sada and a group of businessmen, who drew up a charter for a non-profit association: Enseñanza e Investigación Superior, A. C.

We are a private, non-profit, independent educational institution with no political or religious affiliation. In order to function as an educational institution, we operate under the statute of an Independent University School. We are currently an essential part of the Tecnológico de Monterrey System.

Our work –and that of all our campuses- is supported by civil associations made up of a large number of prominent leaders from across the country, who are committed to quality in higher education.

We also enjoy nationwide community support through the latter’s participation in the raffles organized by Sorteo Tec, with proceeds earmarked to expanding its scholarship program and boosting its infrastructure investment.

This is compounded by the generous contributions of a large group of donor companies and individuals and of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Friends and Alumni Philanthropy Network, which trains its efforts on a student expenditure scholarship program.

A multi-campus university system with an international presence

Today, we are a multi-campus college system with academic venues all over the country and an international presence through our sites and liaison offices in 12 foreign countries.

We have 33 campuses throughout Mexico, as well as a host of associated venues.

Abroad, we have established 21 branches and international liaison offices in 12 foreign countries offering information and continuing education programs, and carrying out consultancy and research projects.

Educational offering

Our educational offering consists of a wide assortment of undergraduate majors, specialties, master’s degree programs, medical specialty programs, and Ph. D. programs in the fields of agriculture, architecture, business and management, communications and journalism, design and applied art, education, engineering and sciences, food technology, health, the humanities and social sciences, information technology and electronics, and law.

Some of the graduate fields have evolved into national schools specializing in business administration and leadership, public administration and policy, and education.

Also available are high school programs with a choice of bilingual, bicultural, and International Baccalaureate tracks.
In addition, we offer programs targeting continuing education and knowledge updating for professionals, companies, and organizations.

Virtual University

The Virtual University, launched in 1989, has consolidated itself as one of the Spanish-speaking world’s foremost institutions in distance learning by virtue of its educational program offerings on the Web.

It is credited with our having expanded the Tecnológico de Monterrey’s academic coverage to over 30 countries, where we have students enrolled today in its on-line graduate courses and other educational programs.

Universidad TecMilenio, part of the Tecnológico de Monterrey System

The Universidad TecMilenio offers education through an innovative, high-academic level model targeting the development and certification of professional competencies in order to forge individuals to successfully join the labor market.

It offers high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs at 32 campuses and 8 sites, supplemented by the On-line Campus, which delivers these programs to all Latin America over the Internet.

The Universidad TecMilenio has also established corporate universities with government, public and private sector institutions to enhance the development of human capital in companies or organizations seeking to lend new knowledge to their staff’s work experience and steer them towards its objectives.
