Institute for Sustainable Social Development

The Institute for Sustainable Social Development (IDeSS) is the entity in charge of the administration and operation of the programs of education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable social development that can be accessed through information technology, and are targeted to people who are interested in educating themselves, starting or improving a business, as well as training in areas such as health and self building in order to improve their lifestyle.

The students of the Tecnológico de Monterrey participate in these programs as consultants in small businesses, tutors in the courses, and consultants in their areas of expertise, a task that they carry out as community social service.

Moreover, the professors are the specialized consultants who guide and supervise the activities of the students in these programs.

Among the educational programs offered by the IDeSS the one that stands out is Prepanet, which offers the opportunity of accessing high school online. This service is directed to people who were unable to finish this academic level in the traditional format due to time, economic, or geographical limitations. The IDeSS offers its programs through the social incubators and the community learning centers
